If you’re a senior who enjoys working with your hands—whether it’s shaping wood, designing jewelry, working with clay, or exploring glass and metal—you may want to consider becoming part of the WE Seniors Artisan Guild Market.
Now entering its second year, the Market has already begun to build a reputation as a welcoming and inspiring space for artisans to showcase high-quality, three-dimensional work. It’s not just about selling—it’s about celebrating creativity, sharing knowledge, and connecting with others who appreciate the process behind each piece.

Participating in the Artisan Guild Market is about more than setting up a table—it’s about being part of a creative community.

Important Notes About the WE Seniors Artisan Guild Market

This is a juried market. We're looking for high-quality, three-dimensional original work created by talented artisans aged 55+. To ensure a diverse and unique experience, space is limited to just 18 vendors, and we'll have a limited number of vendors per category.
We're focused on 3-dimensional handcrafted excellence, so we will not accept work produced by mechanical means (such as 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC, etc.), multi-level marketing goods, or fine art like paintings or watercolours.

As we wrap up our inaugural WE Seniors Artisan Guild Market, we want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the more than 200 people who joined us to celebrate and support the incredible artisans in our community.

Strathcona County is home to so much creativity and talent, and we were thrilled to showcase the work of these inspiring local creators.

A special thank-you to Mayor Rod Frank for taking the time to attend (and for proudly sporting his new hat!), and to Sandy and Geff Blenkinsopp of Eleri Creations —along with all our wonderful vendors—whose dedication and enthusiasm made this event possible.

This Saturday, October 18, we are excited to launch the WE Seniors Artisan Guild Market —a brand-new event highlighting high-quality, three-dimensional works of art. Imagine beautiful creations made from wood, metal, glass, and leather, all crafted by talented senior artisans.

The idea for the market started back in 2024 when Sandy and Geff Blenkinsopp of Eleri Creations came to us with a vision: to create a dedicated space where senior artisans could share their work, connect, and get the recognition they deserve.

When they followed up this year, we knew it was time to make it happen! Our very first market will be a special launch hosted right here at the WE Seniors office.

Come through our doors between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to find one-of-a-kind treasures and support seniors who continue to innovate and share their gifts! We can't wait to see you there!

Deborrah Hughes-Gahr took her first pottery class in Camrose about 24 years ago and was immediately hooked on throwing clay on the pottery wheel and hand building.

Since then she has taken several classes in Fort Saskatchewan and Sherwood Park and taught at the Clay Hut at Smeltzer House. She has operated her own home studio for 12 years.

Deborrah enjoys making functional dinnerware and also likes to experiment making home decor and items for outdoor living spaces such as patio table top bubble water fountains.
