📣 Farms Open Participant Spotlight: The Farmers Market in the Village - Stirling 🧺

Every Friday evening from late June through early October, the Farmers Market in the Village showcases the best of local food and products in Stirling. Held beside the historic covered bridge from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the market features fresh produce, breads, dips, honey, chips, flowers, baked goods, and a variety of locally made products. Stop by on your way home, stock up on farm-fresh ingredients, and kick off your weekend with the flavours of the season.

Farms Open begins at the Farmers Market in the Village on Friday, September 11, 2026! Come out, meet local growers and producers, pick up your Farms Open passport and receive your first stamp, while browsing the market and take home fresh, local products to enjoy.

It's the perfect way to celebrate the harvest season and start your Farms Open weekend.

Friends, your support has been incredible! 🥲Thank YOU!!! A long story short, I am bringing our petitions to the Council Meeting tomorrow Tuesday September 1st at 10am to present and express all your support 💗 If you're available, please do come!
Short story long, I submitted a Presentation/Deputation request through the Township website on the morning of August 23 (using their required procedure and within their time frame) but somehow this request was never received by the Clerk. I even provided a screen shot of the website stating "Thank You. Your request has been submitted to the clerk's department for a response." Unfortunately I have not been added to the agenda for the meeting. I've been advised that Council can make a motion at the start of the meeting to allow the presentation but if they do not allow it I will present them at the Public Input portion of the meeting (which only allows me 2 minutes instead of 10 that a deputation allows).
In the meetings agenda they have released a new staff report regarding the BIA and made a reccomendation for Council decision. I'll provide more info on that in the comments.

Market Community - we still have no updates on the BIA 😢 The August 12th Press Release from the township is all we've heard - no decision has been made in regards to dissolving the BIA. We've requested their next steps and whether the BIA will be included in further discussions or decision making (on August 16), and no one has responded. We've requested a delegation for the Tuesday September 1st Council Meeting at 10am to present our petition.📝 If you're able to attend to show your support please come! 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️🙋
We took time this weekend and found there are over 630 signatures 😮 You all are so amazing and supportive and we appreciate you taking the time to express that support for the BIA and everything that these volunteers do. If you haven’t sent a letter of support or signed the petition please do! Hope to see you September 1st (or sooner at the Farmers Market on Fridays 4-7pm) 💗
