With a high of 13C for today and rain forecast for the long weekend we've replaced our ice water with mint for a pot of hot coffee! Stop by our farm stand for a cup of coffee on us and take home some pumpkin spiced cinnamon buns!

Happy Labor Day weekend! The farm stand will be open from 10 to 6 on Saturday Sep 5, Sunday and holiday Monday. We will feature our baking so please pre-order on our website so you're not disappointed! As the season winds down we will focus on preparing for next year so please watch here for reduced farm stand hours and days.

Veggies and eggs are limited as they have been all summer so visit our website to pre-order for pickup or delivery.

Farm stand is open today Aug 30 and tomorrow between 10 and 6! We have limited quantities of eggs and green onions for sale and these sour cream and chive biscuits made from our own Apache green onions. Their gorgeous dark purple bulbs peek through the biscuits and have a great flavor. We also have some caramel popcorn and butter tarts. We're all sold out of cinnamon buns and bread for now but will have more available later this afternoon and tomorrow. DM or pre-order online to make sure you get what you want before coming out to visit us!

Here's this week's delivery featuring small batches of garlic!

The first plantings stayed pretty safe from the heavy rainfall but they're almost finished now. Our big gardens are seriously under-performing so we have a gap in what's ready. We will supplement with baking until our later plantings catch up.

We're expecting potatoes, more beets, some fast-growing greens and plenty more carrots on the way. We have a little hope for tomatoes still and we've seen quite a few squash flowers showing up this week ... better late than never!

We're open today! We have some baking available ... butter tarts, bread and garden muffins. Please pre-order on our webs...

Farm stand closed today! We've recovered physically and mentally from Alberta Open Farm Days but our stores haven't quite yet. We're out of eggs, pickles and herb-infused vinegar so we won't open the farm stand on Friday.

Tomorrow (Saturday) we will have garden muffins, butter tarts, scallion biscuits, and bread. If you want something special please pre-order on our website www.offgridyeg.ca for pick up at the farm stand. Or send us questions, comments at [email protected].

Our second and third veggie plantings were most heavily impacted by the poor weather but our most recent plantings are overtaking the earlier stuff! Stay tuned for news of more greens, potatoes, beets, carrots, squash and some gorgeous pumpkins and gourds for fall! We will also have more herb-infused vinegar in a couple of weeks.

Goodbye peas ... hello carrots!! 😍

Carrots hardly grew at all for the last few weeks and all of a sudden they're amazing! We have 3 more plantings and they're all looking good.

Our peas are finishing up for the season and so is our first planting of beets. Our second and third plantings of beets aren't doing very well, but our fourth planting looks promising 🤞

Here's this week's veggie subscription ... supplemented by cinnamon buns.

Alberta Open Farm Days 2026 is a wrap! We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the support and interest in our tiny little farm. We can't thank you enough!

We considered dropping out of OFD this year because our veggie gardens are buried in weeds and water but we thought - why not?? This is the story this year. It's sad and it's frustrating but we're re-energized with the outpouring of positivity. This work is the most physically and mentally demanding work we've ever done, but producing beautiful food for our community makes it feel worth it. We've learned a lot about how to deal with excess moisture and last year we learned a lot about dealing with drought. We're feeling prepared for next year!

We have sold out of absolutely everything because we didn't know what to expect! We will have more available for next year's OFD.

For now, our farm stand is closed today to let us rest and do our weekly deliveries. Look for our farm stand every weekend for the rest of the season on Friday to Monday between 10 am and 6 pm. We will put out any extra we have. Watch social media for what's fresh!

A limited number of 2027 season subscriptions are now for sale on our website. We also have a new section where you can pre-order baking or whatever you like for pick up at the farm stand the following weekend. As always, if you order more than $30 we will deliver.

One more sleep until Open Farm Days!! The farm stand will be open from 10 to 6 on Saturday the 15th and Sunday the 16th.

Our veggies are struggling with the wet summer weather so we have just enough for our subscribers but we will have eggs, baking, herb-infused vinegars and a few other treats and surprises for sale at the farm stand.

We will also be offering free tours of the farm at 12, 2 and 4 pm each day. If you’re curious about our solar grid or what it’s really like to start a veggie farm from scratch, come on out!
