Today, we celebrate a true legend of the sea — Dick Ellsworth. For over 55 years, Dick has fished with Tignish Fisheries, bringing wisdom, strength, and heart to our community.

From his first trip at just 16, guided by his parents Jordan and Margaret, to a lifetime spent on the water, Dick’s love for the sea became part of who he is.

Together with his wife Alice, they raised four wonderful daughters — Paulette, Deanna, Carol Ann, and Jennifer — continuing the Ellsworth legacy of dedication and respect for the ocean. 💫

Thank you, Dick, for your lifelong commitment and for inspiring generations with your passion for the sea.

Today, we celebrate a man whose life has been shaped by the sea and whose spirit has helped Tignish Fisheries stand strong for 100 years — Ray Gaudette, son of Gail and Roger.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Ray left school in Grade 8 to pursue his calling on the water. Through calm and storm, his love for fishing — and his devotion to family — never wavered. Even when he ventured West to keep his dream alive, the sea always called him home. 💫

Beside him through every tide is his wife Darlene, and together they raised Bree and Perry, who share that same deep connection to the ocean.

Ray is more than a fisherman — he’s the heart of his family and part of the legacy that keeps our community strong.

Thank you, Ray, for your dedication, resilience, and love for the sea. Because of you, and families like yours, we don’t just mark 100 years of Tignish Fisheries — we celebrate a living legacy that will sail on for generations to come.

Our story is YOUR story. Our home is YOUR home. We are Tignish Fisheries. 🫶💕🌈✨

Today, we celebrate the amazing women who helped shape Tignish Fisheries behind the scenes.

Joyce, Debbie, Tracy, Stella, Hazel, and Alice—our “office girls”—took on everything from accounts and payroll to reception and purchasing. But more than that, they built friendships, family, and a strong foundation for us all.

Their hard work and dedication are a big part of why we’re here 100 years later—and their legacy will carry us forward for the next 100. 🙌

Forever grateful for these incredible women.

Today, we honor the Costain Family. For generations, the Costains have lived with the sea at the heart of their story. Brian grew up fishing alongside his father Holland, and with his wife Barb, passed that same love on to their children — Tara, Jeff, and Jamie.

Now, their grandchildren Jacob, Gibson, and Gunner are carrying the tradition forward, proving that fishing is more than a way of life — it’s a bond that ties a family together across time. 💫

Families like the Costains remind us why we’re celebrating 100 years — because love, tradition, and community are what truly keep the spirit alive.

Today, we celebrate the Hustler family — a family whose roots run deep in love, tradition, and respect for the sea. From his boyhood days on the water, Dale Hustler embraced the life of a fisherman, carrying forward the proud legacy of generations before him. With every tide, Dale passed on that same passion and strength to his family, ensuring the torch continues to shine for the next generation. 💫

Thank you, Dale and family, for your dedication, your commitment, and the inspiration you bring to Tignish. Your story is not just about fishing — it is about resilience, love, and the heart of our community.

Today we don’t just celebrate — we honor.

The Jeffery family, led by Marjorie and the late Albert, together with their nine children, have been the heartbeat of Tignish Fisheries.

Albert gave his life to the sea, while Marjorie, from just 11 years old, worked with strength, sacrifice, and unwavering faith in God. Their legacy lives on in their children and in our community. 💫

The Jefferys remind us what it truly means to be resilient, faithful, and proud. Families like theirs are why we celebrate 100 years — and why we look forward to the next hundred.

Thank you, Jeffery family.

Today, we honor the McInnis Family — Keith, Michael, and nephew Tyson Gaudet — a fishing legacy passed down from their father’s 50+ years at sea.

From Michael’s wife, Connie, working beside him for decades, to Tyson now carrying on the tradition, their love for the ocean is more than a livelihood — it’s a way of life. 💫

Thank you, McInnis family, for keeping the heartbeat of Tignish strong. 🌊

Today we celebrate a true cornerstone of Tignish Fisheries — Betty Ann Gallant.
Born into a proud fishing family and married to Lawrence, she carries on a heritage now passed to their son, Michael.

Betty Ann’s skill, warmth, and kindness have touched everyone she works with. She’s the laughter in the room, the steady hand in the plant, and the heart that keeps our family strong. 💫

Her dedication, loyalty, and love for this place inspire us all to work with pride and lead with kindness.

Betty Ann — you are, and always will be, the heartbeat of Tignish Fisheries.

Today, the horizon calls — it’s Lobster Fall Setting Day. 🌊🦞

To our fishers and workers heading out before sunrise, braving the cold winds and the power of the sea — we see you, we thank you, and we stand with you. Your hard work, long days, and countless sacrifices are the heartbeat of our families, our community, and our Tignish Fisheries family.

This is more than a season — it’s tradition. It’s unity. It’s a legacy built together. Hand in hand, we face the sea once more… for our homes, for our children, and for the future we believe in.

Here’s to calm waters, full traps, and a safe, bountiful, and successful fall season ahead. We believe in you. We are rooting for you. And we are proud — today and always. 🫶✨💕🌈
