I would like to clear up some misinformation that has been circulating.
At no point did I ever say that the Legion shut down the Tilbury Farmers Market. Someone asked whether the market was affiliated with the Legion, and I simply explained that the market is its own entity. It was created with one goal in mind: to help keep the Legion’s doors open during the summer months, bring more people into the Legion, support local small businesses, and bring our community together.
The market has been placed on hold due to circumstances that arose and needed to be sorted out before moving forward. I have never publicly stated that the Legion shut the market down.
It has been very upsetting to see misinformation being shared. I have spent countless hours building this market from the ground up—reaching out to vendors, promoting local businesses, creating advertisements, organizing weekly events, and doing everything I could to create something special for Tilbury. My only goal has ever been to create a welcoming community event that everyone could enjoy while supporting both our local businesses and the Legion.
I’m not sure where the other stories and comments being shared on Facebook have come from, but I would appreciate it if people would avoid spreading misinformation or making assumptions. If anyone has questions, I encourage them to ask me directly rather than relying on rumors.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the market, our vendors, and our community. Your encouragement has meant so much to me. I remain hopeful that once everything has been sorted out, the market can continue to grow and provide something positive for Tilbury.
