Congratulations to all new Transport Canada Advanced RPAS (Drone) certification graduates. This past weekend we hosted our first ever training course in Brownsville and at the Brownsville Community Centre . All flight reviews were done at our SUGU Flight Review Field in Brownsville.
These new graduates are now certified to perform various jobs using drones, roof inspections, real estate aerial services, land surveys, insurance damage assessments post storms etc... and various agricultural tasks. Our only limitation is our imagination.
Also, these students are now fully trained, and comply with Transport Canada rules and regulations.
It is worth noting that simply going out and buying a drone that is over 250g in weight and flying it in public is prohibited and illegal, if caught, or if something happens, it will be treated same way as operating motor vehicle without a license. A lot of new rules and regulations are coming into effect as of November 2025, along with it comes stiffer enforcement to ensure people that operate these drones are properly trained and certified to do so.
So obey the rules, enjoy the fun offered by flying drones, do it safely and responsibly.
Again, congratulations to the new graduates.
