Got 2 24 inch roaches done. A lot of tying and sewing! Long way around and barely fits in the oven to shape.

A pair of matching 18 inch roaches. Now 2 boys can't fight. Tough to do to make them match, but I'm sure the boys will find which one is better.

Two more orders finished. The purple is 22 inch, the white and orange is 18 inch. Working 7 days a week to keep promises for dancers hoping to dance again.

Working on a roach order for a dancer wanting cutwork. I use to cut the deerhair after the roach was shaped. Tedious and hard to cut evenly. Now tape the hair to paper and then mark out the design with a ruler. Lot easier and even.

Got two more orders done. A 16 inch fancy and 18 inch straight dance with long hair. The base for a straight roach is narrow and tapers to the tail, which makes it stand up.

Time to shape and bake a couple of 16's. Before this, they look like hair brushes. luse old baseball bars cut flat on top with a screw off- centered. And double knit material for a wrap; always roll up the wrap before. Keeps even stretch across the wrap, and it's a pain to do it unrolled.

Spread out the hair and spray with water inside and out, then comb it out. If you have a roach that's been to every dusty dance and needs washing, just wash in soapy water, and rinse. Takes longer for base to dry, but it's good to get the salt and sweat out.

Start wrapping below the top to lock in the wrap, then around the top and all the way to the tail.
Check the crown to be even. Otherwise it won't flare out right, also depending how much flare you want check how much close to the bat it is.
