Established in 1979 the Truro Farmers Market Cooperative is home to over 40 vendors each Saturday from. Located in the historic fire hall building, the market is a vibrant gathering place in the heart of the community. It features fresh, local produce, baked goods, specialty crafts, delicious foods to eat on site or take home, NS b**r and spirits, meats, cheese, eggs, honey, seafood, flowers, plan

🌦️RAIN OR SHINE farmers work through the weather to bring in the harvest each and every week. Tomorrow is no different. Maybe your beach plans are cancelled and it’s time to make some jam and a big pot of soup? We will be here both inside and under the canopy waiting for your visit!

🫖Pull up a chair and grab a coffee or tea. Listen to the tunes of Mike Mattocks while you catch up with your neighbours. Our prepared food vendors are here to make you breakfast or lunch or a tasty snack.

What is better on a rainy weekend than enjoying the bustle of Market Day? Come meet all the fine folks who are growing, making, cooking, creating, brewing, baking, and producing great products right here.

🫐Red Mountain Farm managed to get berries harvested before the rain! This is your LAST WEEK for fresh wild blueberries BUT as you hopefully know (or now know) Heather has frozen wild blues available year round.

The farm has been working hard over the last few weeks harvesting and cleaning the berries for the freezer. They’re ready for you to add to all your baking, smoothies and even savoury foods.

Find Red Mountain Farm under the canopy outside weekly. Once the cold weather comes they will be located inside the North Bay entrance.

The Truro Farmers’ Market Cooperative is located at 15 Young St. in the heart of downtown Truro. Red Mountain Farm has been one of our cooperative member vendors for over 30 years!

🍄‍🟫🍄Herb’s Herbarium mushrooms! Stacie is back with us bi-weekly. DYK that mushrooms are nutritious and helpful for your immune system?

🫑Supper by Sylvia has your back to school lunches covered with Roasted Veggie Orzo Salad (with feta, crunchy edamame, rainbow peppers, zucchini, red and white onion and a hint of lemon). She also has Chickpea and Red Lentil Masala, Cadbury Minu Egg Dip and more!

🌶️🍅 Fill your baskets and bags with the abundant peppers and tomatoes from our farmers! The newest Farmers' Markets of Nova Scotia tote is available at our Market Stall too!

🥙Supper by Sylvia has a full menu including this Chicken Caprese Panini, Chickpea Salad Sandwiches, Breakfast Wraps, Italian Beef Soup (great to stock in the freezer for back to school!), Chocolate Texas Sheet Cake & more!

🫧High Tide Soaps has plenty of lovely artisan soaps but we wanted to take a picture of these ones because they inspire us to squeeze the best out of these last weeks of summer.

👒Speaking of summmer fun Dirty Girl Hats return after a few weeks away and will have her straw hat station open! Come by to see Andrea this week.

🧄 Some of the best fall decor is edible! Braided certified organic garlic grown by Good Clean Farm. It’s ok not to eat it right away it’ll keep for winter and keep the vampires away during Halloween too!

🫖 We had a great time with Jamie these last few weeks but Lynn-Marie returns tomorrow after enjoying some summer things. Come stock up on your herbal teas and chat herbs.

🍅🫑🌶️Cochrane Family Farm wants to make sure you know they have an abundance of heirloom tomatoes, sweet peppers, and fresh herbs including some very special ones like Thai basil!

🥓 Wild Pasture Farm is restocked with bacon and ham roasts. Plenty of pastured chicken!

☀️The extra sunshine our vendors bring lights up our market mornings. We’re looking forward to:

🌻Bright and vibrant bouquets from Bountiful Brookfield Blooms. Grown on their farm and cut fresh for Market Day each week.

🥂The flight of local ingredients used by our vendors such as Fireside Meadery. BACK THIS SATURDAY and more famous than ever. Try the Monarch Melomel highlighting Nova Scotia blueberries and honey.

🍫The sweet treats that are made by hand sure to add a little pep to your step. Shelly's Kitch'n Table is here this Saturday with chocolate sponge toffee, marshmallow nougat, peanut brittle. This week they will also have Peanut protein bars!

🌭Anyone who needs a pop of positivity should stop by Gudi’s Bavarian Sausage Station. Gudi brings her big smile and incredible work ethic every week to the market. Grab some fresh sausages for this weekend BBQ or one ready for you to eat as you shop the market.

🩷There are SO many individual vendors who help make our Saturday mornings not only possible but fantastic! 🫐🌻🍅Here we go! Another Market Day coming up with a glut of beautiful farm products, handmade items and treats you can really sink your teeth into.

🫐The wild blueberry harvest is beginning to wind down. Red Mountain Farm has started to harvest their last field. FRESH berries this Saturday and next, frozen thereafter. Heather has frozen year round for your smoothies, breakfast oatmeal, baking and all things that need the wild blues!

🪡NEW this Saturday we welcome Made Coastal with their sewn pouches, hair tool bags and wristlets. Be sure to check out their page for the many patterned fabrics they will be offering.

🪴Woodlands and Meadows Perennial Nursery and Gardens is here this Saturday under the canopy with plenty of indoor plant pals and a small selection of semps, sedums and others. There’s always room on the windowsill to add to your plant collection.

🍂Country Roads Rustic Decor joins us for the FIRST TIME since last year?!? Taylor will be bringing all the awesome autumn decor, DIY kits, and more! Be sure to stop by and start embracing the fall in style. Find her in the North Bay.

🦉ChelleMi Art return this Saturday with new reduction linocut prints and her wonderful wood burned artworks. Come see them all but especially the newest owl in limited edition of 6!

🍅🍅🍅Last but not least in this post we want to remind you to do yourself a favour. Get the field ripened tomatoes now! Can or freeze some for your future January self because you will be happy you did.

🥒If you don’t love canning or jamming we have some excellent preserve makers here at the market including Henwood’s Farm (Giselle & Carole), Chevy’s Everything Jalapenos and Misty Cat Homestead. They are here each week and although they don’t can tomatoes for the market they DO make a wide variety of sweet and savoury jams, jellies and pickles.
