There’s always room for a new friendly face at the Market 😃

We’re continuing our search for a casual, part-time Grocery Clerk to join the Washington Community Market team.

We’re looking for someone who understands the Downtown Eastside, enjoys working with people, and brings kindness, reliability and care to their work. Our days are filled with familiar faces, everyday conversations, stocking shelves, helping customers and being part of a small team serving the neighbourhood.

If you’re looking for flexible part-time work where you can connect with your community and contribute to something meaningful, we’d love to hear from you.

Celebrating Learning, Leadership, and Community 💛

Recently, we had the privilege of attending Adler University's Social Justice Practicum Symposium, where students shared their experiences, learning, and reflections from their practicum placements.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the students who volunteered their time at Washington Community Market. Through their compassion, curiosity, and willingness to learn, they became part of our community and contributed to the welcoming environment we strive to create every day.

At CIRES and Washington Community Market, we believe that meaningful change happens through connection, shared experiences, and a commitment to understanding the communities we serve. It was inspiring to see these future leaders reflect on their journey and the lessons they will carry forward.

Thank you to Adler University for fostering mentorship, compassionate action, and empathetic leadership, and congratulations to all of the students on this important milestone. We wish you continued success as you carry your learning into the world 💛
