We thought we would have a little fun and do a guess the weight!! Closest without going over will get some credit at our table at the market next week. We’ll have the zucchini and potato at the market with us this week if you’d like to pick them up and give your best guess. We will have a sheet there you can put your guess on, but you can also comment on this post. Weights need to be in pounds and ounces. 2 guesses and 2 prizes, one for each vegetable!

The flea beetles have moved in fast and hard and we caught this arugula kind of in time, a little lacy. All brassicas now get to fight for their life for a few weeks. We use no sprays but have special covers for brassica crops, but those little beetles are sneaky.

Yes, there’s a tomato in the photo and no, I didn’t have tomatoes at market. That’s the benefit of being a member. Something like a tomato becomes a priority for our people who invest in us all season. That’s not to say we don’t appreciate our market customers ,because we absolutely do! Many of you invest in us every single week. But these darn tomatoes are giving us a run for our money.

6 years ago Maria would be in awe of today Maria!

I was complaining to myself, because I made a bit less at the market this week than I have the last few weeks. But then I looked back and just two years ago my highest grossing market didn’t meet today’s. And if I were to look back at six years ago, well that’s just another story.

It’s easy to get caught up in the next goal. The next accomplishment the next mark of “I made it.” But it’s pretty important to look back once in a while!
