Wellington Community Market We are a not for profit market, operating at the Wellington United Church parking lot in Wellington, Prince Edward County. Saturdays from 9am-1pm.

May long weekend through the weekend after Thankgiving… AKA Pumpkinfest! We look forward to seeing you! Beside the Wellington Park and playground. Picnic tables and public washrooms available in the park. Parking at the public school and street parking for up to 2 hrs.

Sometimes welcoming a new season starts with something small.

A beautiful bouquet for the kitchen table. A cozy handmade piece. Something delicious to tuck into the pantry. A new candle, a favourite local treat, or something you didn’t know you needed until you spotted it sitting on a market table.

Week Two: Find a one-of-a-kind fall treasure

Some of the best finds are the ones you were not looking for.
You stop to admire something that catches your eye. A piece of jewellery. A hand-carved keepsake. A beautiful piece of pottery. Something made by hand that you have never seen anywhere else.

The best part is knowing there is a story behind it.

A person imagined it, designed it, and brought it to life with their own two hands. And now, somehow, it has found its way home with you.

So this week’s Fall Market Bucket List challenge is to take your time and wander.

Try a Fall Flavour

Every season has a flavour. Fall might have the best ones.

The warmth of cinnamon. The sweetness of local honey. Fresh bread still warm from the oven. Apples baked into pies and pastries. Something pumpkin-spiced. Something maple. Something you pick up on a whim, only to wish you had brought home another.

There’s something about that first taste of fall that makes the season feel a little more real.

So, this Saturday, we’re kicking off our Wellington Community Market Fall Bucket List with a simple challenge:

There is something special about watching the seasons change at the market.

The colours begin to shift. The flavours get warmer. The harvest changes from week to week, and slowly, almost without noticing, summer gives way to fall.

So this September, we are inviting you to experience the season with us.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing our Wellington Community Market Fall Bucket List, filled with little things to taste, discover, create, and experience as we make our way into autumn.

The Last Taste of Summer

There are certain tastes that belong to summer.

The sweetness of a late-season peach. Tomatoes warmed by the afternoon sun. Fresh corn, crisp greens, cold lemonade, and berries that somehow never make it all the way home.

There is something about summer produce that makes you want to slow down and savour it, because somewhere in the back of your mind, you know it won’t be here forever.

The gardens are still overflowing. The flowers are still blooming. The days are still warm.

But the season is beginning to turn.

So come enjoy another Saturday at the Wellington Community Market. Fill your basket with some of the last tastes of summer, find something handmade, grab something delicious, and spend a little time wandering through the village.

Summer won’t last forever.

A Market Site with a Story to Tell…

For more than 14 years, the heart of Wellington has been a place where people gather.

Since 2012, the market has brought together local farmers, artisans, makers, bakers, musicians, neighbours, and visitors, becoming the longest-running modern era market site in Prince Edward County.

Over the years, countless conversations have been shared here. Friendships have been formed over coffee, families have made market visits part of their summer traditions, and local entrepreneurs have launched and grown their businesses from a market stall in the heart of the village.

But the history of this site extends beyond market days…

In 2017, as Canada celebrated its 150th anniversary, this very location welcomed royal visitors when King Charles III (then Prince of Wales) and Her Majesty the Queen (then Duchess of Cornwall), joined the community for Canada Day celebrations.

It was a proud moment for Wellington and a reminder that this gathering place has long been at the heart of village life, and of PEC.

Today, the market continues to thrive. Every Saturday from May until October, the site comes alive with the sights, sounds, and flavours that make Prince Edward County so special. New vendors join, familiar faces return, and the tradition carries on.

In a place where history has been made and community continues to flourish, the longest-running modern era market site in Prince Edward County remains a proud Wellington tradition.

Rooted in the past, thriving in the present, and looking forward to many more years ahead.
