Paynter's Fruit Market is an experience unto itself. All of these are grown by us, spray free. Most of the varieties we grew this year are edible. Check out the signs on the bins for info.

Have you tried Coronation Grapes before? These are a local, seedless grape that is the sweetest fruit we have in the market right now. As an example a peach is around 14- 16 brix, these grapes are sitting at 21 brix 🍇

What is brix? Brix (°Bx) is a measurement of the sugar content in a liquid to judge ripeness and sweetness.

🍑 For fruit

1° Brix ≈ 1 gram of sugar per 100 grams of solution.

For example:

* 10° Brix → roughly 10% soluble solids
* 14° Brix → roughly 14%
* 18° Brix → sweeter/more concentrated fruit

A refractometer is used to measure Brix by putting a drop of juice on the prism.

All that to say - you need to try these out. There is a sample box out, make sure to taste one next time you are in.

Plans this long weekend? Let your friends know that’s it’s the perfect temperature to explore the orchards and you-pick Italian prune plums. They are only $1 per lb and we have a ton of them on the trees ( literally tons, please tell your friends, spread the word!)

It’s a great day to make something!! I think my line was, “ come gets some stuff to make something stuff” 🤦🏼‍♀️

My all time favourite rain-day dish to make is butternut squash soup 🥣

We are loaded up for the long weekend and open from 8am-8pm.
