Meet Winnipeg Author Alison M. York! 📖

Join us in-store for a book signing event!

Saturday August 22
12 PM to 4 PM
At British Food Co.

Alison is the author of two novels, Tartan Threads: Serendipity in Scotland (2024) and Tangled Threads: Serendipity in Winnipeg (2026). The stories will captivate the reader as they try to figure out how the characters will merge from entanglements caused by and via the use of, a futuristically constructed time traveling quartz crystal geode.

The Thread series encompasses several genres including time travel, mystery, adventure, and romance. The trilogy concludes in the novel, Twisted Threads: Serendipity in Lillooet, which is under construction.

Thank you so much to the for having us be part of such a wonderful celebration of culture and heritage this year during Folklorama!

All the dancers are so amazing and put on a wonderful show. The live band was fantastic and kept the party going. The cultural display was a great way to experience an English pub and an afternoon tea.

One of our favourite nights was also having the British Car Club of Manitoba stop by. And we can’t forget about the desserts, especially the sticky toffee cake and Eton mess. Delicious!

A heartfelt thank you to the for having us be part of an unforgettable week of music, dance, and great food during Folklorama!

The dancers are incredibly talented and their quick footwork is always amazing to see. The production is top tier and the show is one you cannot miss.

We also love seeing the famous Temple Bar here and it feels like we’ve taken a trip to Ireland! With a pint of Guinness, a plate of bangers and mash, and Irish cream mousse cake for dessert, it’s the best time and a wonderful celebration of Irish culture!
