🐷 Chinese Braised Pork Hock 紅燒豬手 🐷
Nothing beats a rich, tender, fall-off-the-bone braised pork hock! Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

🥢 Ingredients
• 1 fresh pork hock (about 2–3 lbs)
• 2 tbsp cooking oil
• 6 cloves garlic, smashed
• 6 slices ginger
• 2 star anise
• 2 bay leaves (optional)
• ½ cup light soy sauce
• 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
• 3 tbsp rock sugar (or brown sugar)
• 4 cups water or chicken broth
• 2 tbsp Shaoxing wine (optional)
• Green onions for garnish
👨🍳 Directions
1️⃣ Blanch the pork hock in boiling water for 5 minutes. Drain and rinse.
2️⃣ Heat oil in a pot. Add rock sugar and cook until lightly caramelized.
3️⃣ Add ginger, garlic, star anise, and bay leaves. Stir until fragrant.
4️⃣ Add pork hock and sear for 2–3 minutes.
5️⃣ Pour in light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, and water.
6️⃣ Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat and simmer for 2½–3 hours until the pork is tender.
7️⃣ Increase heat slightly to reduce the sauce until thick and glossy.
8️⃣ Garnish with green onions and serve with steamed rice.
