To our Valued Customers,
🌸 Farm Update; Please Read 🌸
Spring planting is just around the corner and we know many of you are excited for fresh fruit and vegetable season approaching. We ordered our seed back in January with much excitement to continue to serve the public fresh produce this coming 2026 season. However, many of you also know, costs keep rising and input costs for small farms like us get hit hard with the rise in input costs to farm. We have all noticed the jump in Fuel prices in the last two months and that is just one input cost when it comes to farming.
With the Spring market season just weeks away, it is with heavy hearts that we inform our customers that we will NOT be opening up the farm stand this spring. We will still be farming but on a smaller scale for our family as we ride out 2026 and what it holds for spikes in input costs and of course weather, after being hit with extreme summer drought in 2025 and another hot drought summer prediction for 2026. Summer droughts are very stressful for all farmers and we hope this is not the fact for 2026.
This is NOT goodbye! We are still looking at planting our Fall Crops and hoping to Open the Farm Stand come September with Fall Produce for the months of September and October. We have until June as farmers to make this decision if we will plant and move forward with fall crops. Please stay turned for a further Farm update.
We will STILL HAVE EGGS for sale but these will be by ORDER ONLY as they will not be on the farm stand for sale. You can email us, Facebook us or Instagram message us for eggs . We will continue as we have moving forward with Farm Fresh Eggs.
We will also be continuing with our Fresh Cut Christmas Trees come the end of November and December at the farm stand.
We will still be posting on Instagram with what’s happening around the farm and if we have “pop up” openings for Flowers on the stand OR bulk ordering for Strawberries, Rhubarb or other seasonal produce.
We highly recommend if you are still looking for the same varieties and selection of produce to visit Langridge’s Fresh Produce at 249 County Road 1 in Picton.
