Presentation of the Czech Journal of Food Sciences at the Day of VÚM conference

The journal Czech Journal of Food Sciences (CJFS) is being presented at Day of VÚM 2026, held on May 28, 2026, at the National Museum of Agriculture in Prague. The event is organised by Dairy Research Institute. The professional conference focuses on current topics in dairy production, food research, and innovation. This year’s edition once again includes a poster section enabling the presentation of research results. Participants had the opportunity to learn about new trends in dairy production and cheesemaking, as well as current perspectives on the health aspects of dairy product consumption.

Presentation of the Czech Journal of Food Sciences at the CzechFoodChem 2026 symposium
The Czech Journal of Food Sciences (CJFS) is being presented at the 54th annual symposium CzechFoodChem 2026 focused on new trends in food production, chemistry, and evaluation, taking place on 25–26 May 2026 in Prague. This year’s symposium is held under the motto “ From basic food raw materials to ultra-processed foods” and addresses current trends in food science, nutrition, food safety, and food analysis. The programme includes lectures focused, for example, on ultra-processed foods, food quality and safety, plant oils and proteins, nutrition trends, and the sustainability of food systems.
The symposium is organised by the Expert Group for Food and Agricultural Chemistry of the Czech Chemical Society together with the Department of Food Analysis and Nutrition at University of Chemical Technology (UCT), in cooperation with the Czech Agrifood Research Center and the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. The event represents a traditional professional meeting of experts from research, educational, inspection, and commercial institutions operating in the field of food science and related disciplines.

Promotion of CJFS and CJAS journals at the MILKCHECK project workshop in Slovakia

On 14–15 May 2026, an expert workshop of the MILKCHECK project – V4 Dairy Research Network for Raw Milk Qualification Practices and Challenges – is being held in Žilina, Slovakia. The workshop focuses on current challenges facing the dairy industry in Central Europe, particularly those related to climate change, which affects food safety and the quality of raw milk. The meeting brought together representatives of research institutions and experts from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary.
The workshop also included the promotion of the CJFS and CJAS journals. Ing. Irena Němečková, Ph.D., a member of the editorial board of the CJFS journal and Chair of the Department of Food Technology and Technique of the CAAS, participated in the workshop. We would like to thank her very much for promoting the journals.
