Mallorca has lost half its almond trees in ten years.
It isn’t just the bacteria. It’s that almost no one is left to pick them.
These trees still give. And this summer I want you to come and pick them with me.
Fair warning: it’s hard work, but is fun and rewarding.
And we’ll learn a little too, which variety these trees are, why almonds from here have such hard shells, and why in January this same field looks like it snowed.

En diez años, Mallorca perdió la mitad de sus almendros.
Y no es nada más la bacteria. Es que ya casi no hay quien coja las almendras.
Estos árboles siguen dando. Y este verano quiero que se vengan a juntarlas conmigo.
Les aviso: cansa, pero es divertido y se siente bien.
Y de pasada aprendemos un poco: qué variedad son estos árboles, por qué la almendra de aquí tiene la cáscara tan dura, y por qué en enero este mismo campo parece nevado.
