Emirates connects Helsinki and Dubai daily – new opportunities for business and trade🤩

A significant new connection between Finland and the United Arab Emirates will begin on 1 October 2026, when Emirates launches daily direct flights between Helsinki and Dubai.

The year-round direct service represents an important development for both travellers and businesses. It will make travel between Finland and Dubai smoother and more convenient while strengthening connections between Finland, the UAE, and international markets more broadly.

From a business perspective, the new route offers significant benefits. Dubai is a major international hub for business, trade, and investment, as well as a gateway to the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and other global markets. Emirates’ extensive route network will provide businesses travelling from Helsinki with more convenient onward connections to over 150 destinations.

A daily direct flight connection will make it easier to:
✈️ Hold meetings with clients and partners between Finland and the UAE
🌍 Expand into new international markets
🤝 Develop commercial partnerships and investment connections
💼 Facilitate business travel for company employees and clients
📦 Support the growth of trade and logistics between Finland and the UAE

The Finnish food brands we talk to are rarely asking whether to export. They have done it already. Sweden, Germany, the Baltics, sometimes Japan or Korea. The live question is where next, and how to test a new market without betting the year on it.

The UAE belongs on that shortlist for a practical reason. Gulfood, the show that brings the world’s food importers and retailers to Dubai, now runs across two venues, and its World Food floor sits at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City. That is where we are based.

So the usual sequence, fly in, find the buyers, then find someone who knows the ground, collapses into one place. You walk the same halls the importers walk, with a team that already works there.

You do not need a full launch to learn something real. One defined channel, a clear read in a few months, an honest yes or no at the end.

Next week we start getting their products in front of retailers, hotels and restaurants, and corporate wellness programs in the Gulf. Over the next 6-8 months we’ll find out what works, what needs adjusting, and whether the Gulf market is ready for Nordic snacks.
