🇦🇺 “MONSTERS” ACCUSED OF PUSHING TOXIC CONTENT TO YOUNG BOYS

Health Minister Mark Butler has hit back at claims that Australian schools are becoming “anti-boy”, arguing that the bigger threat is the toxic content young people can encounter online.

Mr Butler accused Big Tech platforms and online influencers of using algorithms to push sexism, misogyny and the “manosphere” towards young boys.

The comments come after Nationals leader Matt Canavan criticised some school programs and questioned whether boys are being unfairly targeted in the classroom.

🇦🇺 CAUTIOUS AUSSIES CUT BACK AS COSTS BITE

Australia’s economy has recorded weak growth, with higher petrol prices and recent interest-rate rises putting pressure on household spending.

📊 GDP grew 0.4% in the June quarter, taking annual growth to 2.1% — slightly above market expectations, but still considered subdued.

💰 With mortgages, fuel and everyday expenses squeezing household budgets, Australians are becoming more cautious about spending.

📉 The latest figures also show economic growth in the first half of 2026 was running at about half the pace seen in the second half of 2025.
