Lovely job on a Wednesday , scaffolding up , facias off to the surprise of a over 6ft nest of honeybees a lot of old unused comb removed , bees vacuumed out , bleached to avoid anymore unwanted visitors now to put the roof back together 🐝 🍯

Well to say 2025 has been a whirlwind so far 💨 🐝
It’s been non stop from day 1 …

But we’ve absolutely nailed it and we’re all super proud as a family run business 👌

And it all started from 4 beehives some many years ago … now we’re up in the 600s 🙌🏻 🐝

It’s been a pleasure this season to teach in so many schools around Blaenau Gwent showing off our bees and our business but most of all teaching all the mini people the importance of bees ❤️

So a big thank you to all our support , the schools , blaenau Gwent council stem project and most of all for letting us have the opportunity to do what we do.

Shout it louder for the ones at the back ✌🏻 🐝 🚜

I work with farmers every day. I advocate for them. I fight for better policy, better research, better outcomes. And more often than I’d like to admit, I hear this:

“You’re not a farmer.”

As a beekeeper, I’ve learned to expect that. And honestly, it’s frustrating.

I raise livestock. I harvest food. I battle pests, drought, and unpredictability. I work with nature. And still, because my livestock flies and my crops don’t grow in rows, I’m often left out.

Grants for farmers? Many don’t apply to beekeepers.
Policy discussions? We’re rarely invited in.
And somehow, if I have 45 hives, I’m a hobbyist — but at 51, I’m small-scale? Where’s the logic in that?

Beekeepers are farmers.
We always have been.
