Smiths' Fresh Produce is a true family business run by Martin Tyzzer-Smith, Karl Smith and Damien Tyzzer-Smith and was established by Martin's mother and father (Karl and Damien's Nana and Grandad Smith) in 1939. on when the new covered market was built in the 60s, this was demolished a few years ago leading them to relocate to the new outdoor market just outside the main Market Hall doors and is easily recognisable by their bright yellow canopies. Alongside the market stall they run a separate arm to the business supplying the catering trade with fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese and eggs. They specialise in supplying restaurants, cafes, sandwich shops, care homes, schools and golf clubs around East Lancashire with fresh produce. They start their day early 3am!!!!! by visiting the wholesale markets to buy in their produce on a daily basis so you are always assured of fresh produce. Look them up next time you're in Accrington, they are a friendly bunch and always have something to say.
