Good Morning Everyone,
Sorry for posting this so late as I haven’t checked my email properly for while but I did had a reply from the manufacturers which I have copy and paste 👇👇
So Sorry once again.
🙏
Hello Bimal
Apologies for how long it has taken to get back to you, We had some issue getting the sausage roll back from Violet.
When we did receive it back it was very hardly recognisable as a sausage roll, temperature controls had not been used and at one point I believe it spent the night in a bin before we eventually had it returned last week.
Our technical manager has had to resort to the original photographs that you sent in to conduct her investigation. Please see below notes that she has made in reference to your complaint.
I have reviewed the pictures you kindly provided to us and I have never seen a product deteriorate in this manner before. I was extremely surprised to see the outside of the product unaffected when the inside was clearly affected.
I can clearly see you are using the BN’s and Use by dates of the products on your deli counter and can only assume that you have a strong stock rotation system in place. The only 2 reasons I can think of that would have caused a product to deteriorate in this manner and location, a small amount of contamination being put into the product by something breaking the outside pastry case, i.e. one of the pins used to hold your deli cards.
This is of course not a definitive answer but a potential cause, perhaps worth looking into.
I have raised a credit with Violet farm for a box of sausage rolls to cover your costs and I’m afraid I will need to apologise again or not being able to be more helpful.
Kind regards
