Bowhouse is a place for making – making food by transforming raw ingredients from the East Neuk's farms and waters into finished products ready for customers locally and further afield. Bowhouse replaces a missing link in the food chain from farmer to consumer by providing dedicated space for producers to operate in. It also has a large, covered market and event space where customers can meet producers and growers and taste their food.

WORKSHOPS WITH ELEANOR MEREDITH

Eleanor is a ceramicist and artist based here on Balcaskie Estate. Eleanor has taught on the illustration BA at Norwich University of Arts, and run workshops at The BFI Animation Academy, The Apple store, V & A Museum, Ravensbourne College and the National Portrait Gallery.

On Saturday 28th March, Eleanor will be hosting two fantastically creative workshops:

Delft Tile Painting
Participants will be encouraged to develop their own designs or to work from traditional Delftware patterns. No prior experience is necessary, and the workshop is suitable for beginners.

Hand Coiled Decorative Vase Workshop

Grass to Grill Estate Tours 2026

A showcase of our organic farming landscape and produce.
The Grass to Grill tours are designed to explain Balcaskie Estate’s progress with regenerative farming methods in an immersive and interactive way.
The safari-trailer will transport you around the beautiful landscape of the East Neuk to visit different points of interest including our livestock, crops, woodland and wildlife habitats. When we return to Bowhouse, you will be introduced to the Butchery team, to show the care and expertise that our sustainable, grass-reared meat receives.
All guests will then gather together for a relaxed, long-table feast which will include local, seasonal produce from the Estate.

Renu is the author of 'Celebrate Diwali' (Penguin Random House), 2024 Scottish Influencer of the Year and has grown an organic Instagram community of 160k+ followers.

Sunday 15th February | 11am-12pm & 1-2pm Chef Al Roberto - bold, honest cooking blending Italian heritage with the finest Kingdom of Fife ingredients. With over 5 years of private dining and events experience through Simmer Kitchen, Al brings passion and expertise to every dish.

Bowhouse Christmas Tree Recycling.

Put your old Christmas Tree to good use and recycle it at Bowhouse this January. We will be using the tree chippings as bedding for our lambs this spring. The pine sap is a natural antiseptic and is great for keeping the new born lambs clean.
Please drop off your tree by 31st January.

Drop off Point - Drive around the back of Bowhouse where you will see a stack of tattie boxes and designated 'Christmas Tree drop off point'.
*Please ensure your tree is free from all decorations and plastic. We do not want our sheep or lambs eating plastic.

WHAT A TEAM!

We've had a brilliant weekend this weekend, a massive thank you to all of our wonderful traders and customers that make Bowhouse the place that it is. We hope everyone had a great weekend. What was your favourite thing at the Christmas Market?

A special mention to our fantastic car parking crew, Bell Baxter Young Farmers kept everything flowing and everyone safe over the weekend!
