As another year has drawn to a close and we look forward to what 2026 brings, we’d like to take this time to thank all our customers for their continued support throughout 2025, as well as recap the year that was! ⏰
2025 was a great year for us but not without its lows. Due to the poor weather of the 2024 beekeeping season, we went into 2025 worried. We had fears of a large number of colonies not being able to survive winter, and unfortunately we had to pause the sale of our honey for a number of weeks due to no stock availability. Fortunately, the vast majority of the hives made it through winter and from there the year went from strength to strength. 💪
Good weather in the early part of the beekeeping season got us back on track and helped to boost any colonies which came out of winter a bit weaker. Long periods of dry weather in April and May saw a bumper apple blossom crop 2 weeks earlier than normal, and soon our honey was available for sale again! 🥳
The 2025 Agri Shows came and went like a blur - Armagh, Clogher Valley and Castlewellan to name a few! We met so many of our wonderful existing customers and made connections with many who had never heard of us before! ☀️
In the midst of all the show madness, we had a very busy swarm season! Not many days went by during the best of the summer weather where we weren’t getting a phone call about a swarm! Some big, some small, and some making local news! 🐝
In Autumn, we were proud to introduce our newest beeswax lip balm - Apple and Honey! Feedback and demand has been strong and we’re glad you all love it as much as we do! In addition, we also introduced our new cardboard push-up tubes for our ever-popular beeswax body balms! Unsurprisingly, your support on these has been nothing short of amazing! ❤️
Throughout 2025, we attended a large amount of organisations and groups to do demonstrations and talks about our hobby! For those new to the page, or if you’re apart of an organisation looking for speakers, we offer interactive, informative presentations for all ages about all we do as beekeepers. Most notably in November, we spoke in front of approximately 500 members of the Women's Institutes of Northern Ireland at their Christmas get-together! We were blown away at the incredible amount of good feedback we received that day, how much people enjoyed the demonstration and how it might have inspired people to take up the wonderful hobby of beekeeping! 🗣️
To close out the year, we once again attended Armagh’s Georgian Day festival; a day full of Georgian-themed fun and the beginning of all things Christmas! And once again, Armagh didn’t let us down - we enjoyed one of our most successful trading days of the year! 🌅
We’ve attached some of our favourite pictures from the last year below! 👇
We’ve had a brilliant year but it’s not been without your support. Whether you called out to our shop to purchase, met us at any of the markets we did this year, or organised delivery/postage of your order, your support was invaluable, incredible and much appreciated. It is through you, our customers, that we can continue to do the hobby which we love and care for our bees. Each purchase made by you is reinvested back into the wellbeing of our bees; whether that be for feed during the winter months, materials to build frames for our bees to store honey and brood within, disease risk elimination or any of the other expenses associated with beekeeping, it all counts! 💙
If there is anything you want to see from us in 2026, or if you have any suggestions for how we can improve our service to you, please feel free to drop them in the comments!
We’ll be back from tomorrow ready to take any new year orders! 😊
We trust you all had a very Merry Christmas and wish you all a peaceful and happy New Year! ❤️
-William, Jack, and everyone at Loughgall Honey ❤️
