Off to the NFU protest today and have a meeting in Parliament with our MP John Whitby (Labour).

Made the train through the forecast snow in the Peak District.

If there was ever any shred of doubt about the inequity of this governments proposed changes to the long established farm IHT regime they have been completely dispelled by my conversation with the EMR train manager and his colleague!

“Are you going to the protest?”

“Yes” I replied.

“Well we are completely with you and have our total support”

We had a short conversation about it and he said he had voted Labour but now regretted it and was “disgusted” with what they are doing to farmers.

“You have our complete support” was thier departing line.

This has really lifted my spirits and has totally enthused me for the day ahead! Labour need to realise just how far on the wrong side of this argument they are.

We’ve had a brilliant and busy week ! We welcomed Jamie to the team on Wednesday, made pancakes on Tuesday, met lots of new faces and saw plenty of people coming back again - and even Daphne (the Vizsla) came to work for a couple of days!
