Our Lammas Loaf - as part our our Lúnasa celebrations on Saturday we wanted to make a Lammas loaf, a loaf made with the first harvest of the new year. Unfortunately our party was about a week or two too early for our Irish climate but our friends over in Gilchesters Organics Flour had thankfully harvested the week prior. This delicious loaf was shared with all at the party, invited to smell and taste this beautiful bread.
The purpose of the Lammas Loaf and our Lúnasa party was to celebrate the hard work of the farmers and toast to the new harvest. If this is what 2026s harvest tastes like, we are very excited to get more of the new grain into the bakery in the next coming months.
