We have a lot of yellow-rattle on the bank of the mill pond this year👏. By feeding off the nutrients on grass roots, it helps other wildflowers to establish. Great to see.

Meet Stephen’s least favourite animal and the most thran beast on the farm. Every time we try to move her she gives us the runaround. In this case she was heading for the maternity unit. Five people, numerous apples, and one hour later, we finally got her there!

Thran- ‘a colloquial expression meaning stubborn, obstinate, or pigheaded’. Spot on.

My favourite job at the moment? Picking tomatoes for the farm shop🍅. After months of high maintenance this is our reward. The variety is Cindel. We also have cherry Gardeners Delight.
