Is this the best summer picnic? Yes.

Cheese and honey, come rain or shine, it’s going to taste good either way.

On the board this time: Ticklemore, Devon Blue, Stithians and Neufchâtel Brie, paired with the North Devon Queens honey range, available in store alongside all our cheese.

Just a reminder we’re closed on Bank Holiday Monday, so if you’re picnic planning, get your cheesy treats sorted before then!

We really are making our way around our suppliers! We recently spent some time with Matt and Kasper of near South Molton.

Getting to know the people behind what we stock matters to us, and it’s easy to see why theirs is some of the best honey around. British bred queens, hives managed by hand, Three Gold Stars at Taste of the West. Each variety is raw and unfiltered, with the flavour shaped entirely by what the bees have been foraging on nearby. They also do tours at the farm if you want to see it for yourself (highly recommended, it’s a fantastic experience!)

We followed up with an incredible selection of cheeses from the shop that we paired with 3 different varieties of honey and the results were more than delicious. We’ll follow up soon with our favourite combos!

Devon Cut Comb, Summer Honey and Spring Honey are all in stock now, but they don’t hang around for long. Thanks Matt and Kasper for having us! 🐝

Ever since I saw the incredible blue cheeses at this year’s Affineur of the Year competition, I couldn’t stop thinking about making our own.

So I grabbed one of our Blues and handed it over to Sam at , a local Holsworthy smoker who already smokes cheddar that we stock, to see what he could do with it.

4 hours over hickory smoke later... and I think you can tell by the first taste, it’s 10/10.

Huge thanks to Sam for his skills, not only with the blue but for his other products too. Smoked Colston Bassett Blue is in the shop this week, but we’ve got a feeling it won’t be around for long, so get down here while you can!

Well, I didn’t expect to hear my own (nervous) voice on Radio 4 this week!

BBC’s The Food Programme’s new episode, “The Dark Arts of Affinage,” is all about the craft of ageing cheese and at 10.29, you’ll hear a little slice of my voice explaining the process I put into the ageing of my cheese.

Big thanks to everyone who tuned in and popped into the shop to tell me they’d caught it.

Turns out, it tasted alright as I won the People’s Choice award!

Off the shelf and into the spotlight 💫

We’ve been hard at work tasting our way through Regency Wines fantastic wine selection, and we’re excited to show you what’s made its way to the shelf…

First up: Here & There Malbec, crafted in South Africa.

Juicy red berry flavours like redcurrant and raspberry, with a touch of warm spice. Smooth and easy-drinking, with a soft, rounded finish.

Enjoy on its own or with a selection of cheeses.

Our personal recommendations are:

Brie ~ soft and creamy, balances the wine’s freshness�Young Gouda or Comté ~ buttery and nutty, brings out the berry flavours�Manchego ~ firm and fruity, holds its own against the spice�Fresh goats cheese ~ bright and tangy, a lovely match for the wine
