🤔 Did you know a Boston Butt doesn't come from the pig's rear?

Despite the name, a Boston Butt is actually cut from the upper shoulder. The unusual name dates back to colonial New England, where pork shoulder cuts were packed into large barrels known as "butts" for storage and transport.

As Boston became famous for its pork trade, the name stuck.

Today, Boston Butt is the go-to cut for low-and-slow BBQ, prized for its rich marbling and ability to transform into tender, pull-apart pork after hours of smoking or roasting.
