🏆 WE’VE ONLY GONE AND WON IT!! 🏆

Still trying to take this one in today…

Last night we were down in Birmingham for the Meat Management Industry Awards and Cooper Butchers was named BEST ONLINE BUSINESS 2026! 🥹🏆

To be sitting in a room alongside some of the biggest names in the meat industry — including major retailers and businesses many, many times our size — and hear our wee family butcher’s name called out was a very special moment.

We launched our online shop back in January 2020, never quite knowing what was around the corner. Six years later, to have that side of our business recognised at this level is something I’m incredibly proud of.

But our online business isn’t just a website.

It’s the team cutting and preparing every order, the people packing the boxes, our drivers getting deliveries out, everyone answering customers’ questions — and, most importantly, all of you who actually choose to shop with us. ❤️

We’re still the same family butcher we’ve been since 1982. We’ve just found a few more ways of getting Cooper Butchers to your table.

A massive thank you to our whole team and every single customer who has ordered from us, recommended us, shared a post or supported us over the years.

❤️ A little post I was strictly forbidden from putting up until now… ❤️

Today we said a proper goodbye to our lovely Janice.

Janice has been part of Cooper Butchers — and really, part of our family — for over 20 years. Janice decided to retire a while back, but luckily for us she wasn’t quite ready to leave us completely and stayed on for one day a week. Today, though, was officially her last day with us. 🥹❤️

I would have loved the banners, balloons and a big send-off, but anyone who knows Janice will know that was absolutely NOT happening! 😂 I was under strict instructions: no fuss. So I behaved myself… until she had safely left the building! 🤣

It’s hard to sum up what Janice has meant to us over all those years. She is one of the hardest-working people you could ever meet, always willing to go above and beyond, and someone you could rely on completely.

She knew our customers — and our customers knew and loved her. She had time for everyone, knew all the chat, and was simply part of the place. ❤️

And it wasn’t just the customers. Every member of staff who has worked alongside Janice has loved her too. She has been a colleague, a friend and a huge part of Cooper’s for more than two decades.

On a personal level, I absolutely adore her and will miss having her around more than she probably realises. ❤️

So, now that she can’t stop me…

Thank you, Janice. For more than 20 years of hard work, loyalty, laughs, friendship and for everything you have done for me, my family, our staff and our customers.

You really are one of a kind. ❤️

Enjoy putting your feet up properly now — although knowing Janice, I’m not convinced she actually knows how! 😂

We’ll all miss you. Happy retirement, Janice! 🥂❤️

And I’m sure plenty of our customers will want to join us in wishing her well too. ❤️

Hugh Congratulations to Andrew McGarrell from Coopers Butchers’s in Bellshill. Andrew has recently completed his Modern Apprenticeship SCQF 5 in Meat and Poultry .

Andrew started his career helping out in the bakery side of the business showing a interest in the meat side of the operation this was picked up and he was encouraged to sign up for the Craft Skills Scotland training program where he flourished, developing his manufacturing and knife skills. A huge part of Andrew’s development is down to the wealth of experience handed down by his mentors.

Here we have Andrew being presented with his Certification from his mentors L/R-Jim- Stevie-Scott.
