SOUTH EAST WATER MEETING TONIGHT - MONDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER - 6.30 PM

Remember the days when you had no water? It's easy to forget; now we have
water flowing out of the taps again. But we need to prevent future outages in Benenden and that's why it's important you come to the Water for Benenden & SE Water public meeting tonight, Monday 7th September at the Centenary Hall, Benenden Girls School. Gates open at 6pm for a 6:30 start.

Please support the team who have worked so hard to set up the meeting, engage the press and politicians and liaise with SE Water so you can get some answers. We need village support in full so please be there!

“Water, water everywhere, not a drop to drink”. Coleridge seems to sum up our climate change predicament - the shortage of water storage & processing and the leaky pipes mean we haven’t used the winter monsoons to keep us, our animals (and flowers) in drinking water during the summer heatwaves.

➡️ What are South East Water going to do about it, in particular for Benenden?

You’ve been to the bottle protest and seen how it got the CEO here and got things fixed for now.

📌 Please make time to come to the public meeting *next Monday 7th September at 6.30pm*. It’s at Hemsted Park, the hall up at Benenden Girls School. We would like a full house at the meeting so SE Water understands what this means to our village.

Wowzers!!! Hope you are all keeping cool and hydrated!! Thank you to all my lovely clients who have endured multiple fans on the go in the treatment room so far this week! Due to the forecast of extreme hot weather conditions, and in order to protect the health and wellbeing of our volunteers and paid staff, the Shop & Café will be closing at 12:30pm each day from Monday 22nd June until Sunday 28th June.

This temporary change has been made to help safeguard our volunteers and staff during the period of exceptionally high temperatures.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding and continued support.
