We would like to say goodbye to the few people supporting us in the past 2-3 years and giving us positivity, truly appreciate it.

In the meantime even though we are gone, we are still looking for our cat, who went missing on the 12th of May, Sunday.
She has a small body, long hair, tabby colour and under normal circumstances very friendly with people, calm.

Cica (tsitsa-cat in Hungarian) is a huge crowd puller at Margo's at the Old Mill. She is not as grumpy as she looks.
She is calm, friendly, confident and pretty adventurous yet she always comes back home. She is a cool cat.
She disappeared around 10am on Sunday. We have her on CCTV waiting to get in at around 9am.
She then vanished.
We are seeking the owners of a narrow boat who were moored here on our moorings, who left without paying for their stay. It was a light coloured greyish narrow boat that headed towards Tring around 10am.
We would like to ask the owners if they have seen our cat.
Our children as well as our guests miss her.
She also needs special care since she has breathing problems and is on a special diet.

There are certain things that make soup a memorable experience. It has to be healthy in the same as chicken soup is to colds and flu. It has to be filling, a meal in itself and it has to be memorable, you will take about it for days after.
This is our pumpkin soup. That is the simple name of it. In reality it is roasted pumpkin with turmeric (it is such a healthy spice that we try as much as possible to include it in as many dishes as possible), ginger, caraway and pomegranate molasses. A bit of a mouthful.
It is a Europe meets northern Africa event. It is spicy without being hot, citrusy without the fruits and rich without being heavy. The flat bread on the side acts as a spoon to a memorable soup.
Some people call us a pub. Some people call us a restaurant. We are whatever you want us to be.
We are home.
We are Margo's at the Old Mill in Berkhamsted.

They tell us that we should not speak up against wrong. We should not speak our mind about injustices and wrongdoings. We should keep quiet in the same way women were kept quiet 100 years ago. They tell us it is not our business to air political views.
If a business strips one off from their right to speak their mind, then here, keep it, we don't want it.

Navalny was murdered by an evil man.
Ukraine was invaded by a sociopath.
The conservatives are destroying our country.
The government does nothing to help the poor but everything to aid the wealthy.
The oil companies made 128 billion in profits while driving 20% of the population to near destitution while the government looks on and applaud it all.
This is not a democracy. This is economic apartheid.

Where else, Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, the whole island for that matter, would you find wood fired oven baked sourdough bread for our Family Sunday Roast?
Sourdough fermented for 3 days, left to rise overnight. Kids asked for pain au raisin, country style. Dip that in some out of this world OEVOO from Giovanni's estate in Ferla and you will be transported to the Med as soon as it touches your mouth.
Life is too short to worry about Monday.
Happy Family Sunday.

Wishing you all a pizzastic National Pizza Day.
May you all enjoy an amazing pizza.
Hope you can join us for our first of 10 Pizza Showcase today and the coming Fridays.
Like any other day, our day starts very early with lighting up the fire and make sure that the oven has reached its optimal temperature by lunchtime.
This is followed by lighting up the fire in the dining room to make it cosy and welcoming.
Chopping the buffalo mozzarella, making new dough and feeding the sourdough mother are interspersed by copious shots of espresso.
We do it because it is what we do and we love it.
