Horwich Honey

Horwich Honey Horwich Honey: Pure, Raw blossom honey. Horwich Honey provides honey which has been produced by its own Honey Bee colonies in and around the Horwich area.

Horwich Honey currently has Four active apiary’s: Ridgmont, New Chapel, Haigh and Red Moss. Horwich Honey uses the extraction, filtering and settling process as its preferred method of obtaining the honey from the hive as the honey has nothing added nor has been the subject of any heat treatment. Horwich honey has had no pasteurisation or sterilisation processes applied to it. The Honey can theref

ore be considered “raw” honey. Horwich honey provides free local honey bee swarm removal: colonies are at their peak during the summer which can lead to swarming. We DO NOT remove or destroy bumblebee nests. Please contact [email protected] for help/advice.

A sure sign that Spring is on its way. Honey bees carrying pollen on their legs back to the hive. Pollen is full of protein and is needed for baby bees. Seeing pollen going into the hive means the queen is laying and we have baby bees 😀🐝🐝

Been with the bees this morning. More to look at tomorrow. All looking good with bees flying in the sunshine. Been checking on the fondant levels (food for the bees). If the fondant bags are empty I give the bees more. A hole in the fondant is a sign the bees are ok (see photos). The Dandilions arriving in flower is the first major natural food saurce, hurry up Dandilions 😀🌻🌞
