🚨ahead of Sundays market it’s meet the trader time. 🚨

This month the spotlight is on Lee and Anna from Wayside Nurseries the smiling perfectionists. If there are happier traders around I don’t know them and behind the smiles are perfectionists who work hard to provide perfect plants for sale.

Wayside Nurseries
Lee & Anna

Family run, traditional working garden nursery. Nestled at the foot of Bredon Hill in the lovely picturesque village of Elmley Castle.

As a family with the love for the great outdoors it naturally evolved into our career.

We have been growing plants since 2000 previously in the market town of Evesham before moving to Elmley Castle in 2018.

We grow hardy perennials, shrubs, summer/winter bedding and our son and and daughter-in-law grow seasonal cut flowers.

Along with attending farmers markets we open the nursery to the public from April-July 7 days a week and also supply some local farmshops.

In our quieter times we love spending time with our family and enjoy walking, nature, cycling and blackberry picking with our grandchildren who are also keen little helpers on the nursery too!

🚨Meet the trader time. 🚨
This month we meet one of our longest running stall holders Emma Boyne always one of the first to arrive to set up and always with a big smile and a cheery good morning whatever the weather.

Hello Everyone
My name is Emma Boyne and I live in Bourton on the Water with my husband Orlando and dog Boris .
I have been selling my cushions here for a few years now .
My cushion journey started over 20 years ago after amassing an interesting collection of wooden printing type I one day decided I should attempt block printing.
In time I perfected my technique and made personalised cushions for weddings, birthdays, new babies etc but not content with that , I tried
my hand with simple animal silhouette cushions ( mainly dogs and cats ) using linens and tweeds .
As time went on I had by now amassed a large collection of wonderful remnants ,large and small and in order to make good use of these my now rather quirky eclectic cushions became my new found style that you see here today .
Ever evolving and no two exactly the same I never know how the next one will look.
Commissions welcome.
Contact me on emma@emmaboyne .co.uk
or come and see me at the market.

🚨It’s meet the trader time! 🚨
With our May market approaching it could really only be Merry May Honey

Named after the folk traditions of May, being celebrated as the return of life and the warm months I decided it was a good choice of name.
I’m Martyn, born and bred in Stow-on-the-Wold. Going to school at Bourton Vale/Cotswold school. I’ve lived in the area all my life moving as far away as Wickhamford! I started the business during the covid years although I had been keeping bees for sometime before that as a hobby. I had always worked in the countryside and with nature, being a National Trust ranger for a while so beekeeping was a natural next step. The business has grown very organically and something I’m very proud of. We work with lots of farmers to help pollinate crops from plum trees, cider orchards, oil seed r**e, field beans, borage and sainfoin at the Cotswold Farm Park, where you can also see my bees in the observation hive in the park between May and September. Doing the pollination to various crops help to provide us with many different honey flavours and no one batch is the same. Bees put simply are just magic.
Away from bees I’m a massive Swindon Town Football Club fan and I’m found every Saturday with my 14 year old son supporting them home and away.
I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday and a very merry month of May to you all!
