Barfields has a date with Oeuf this Valentine’s ❤️

From 9–16 February, we’ve teamed up with Oeuf on a special menu putting our high-quality beef and bone marrow front and centre.

On the plate you’ll find Barfields ox cheek rosti bites with provolone and crispy shallot, plus beef tartare and bone marrow served with brioche French toast soldiers and cured yolk. Proper cuts, cooked with care.

🥞If you’ve got a sweet tooth, Oeuf are bringing the goods with strawberry and passion fruit pancakes, chocolate sauce, churros and meringue.

Burns Night is calling and the haggis is ready 🥃🔥

This year we are keeping it proper and doing it the Barfields way. Not made by us, but very carefully chosen for quality.

We are stocking Fruit Pig haggis, made by the same people behind their much-loved black pudding. If you know Fruit Pig, you already know the standard. This one is slow cooked, rich and far meatier than many of the supermarket versions, with plenty of time given for the flavours to come together.

The good news is it is already slow cooked, so there is no stress on the night. Just warm it through in the oven, get the tatties and neeps on, and you are good to go. Perfect for entertaining or just because you fancy something a bit different for dinner.
Available in 1lb or 2lb, depending on how many you are feeding, or how generous you are feeling.

And because it would not be Burns Night without a bit of poetry, a nod to the man himself:

Fair fa’ your honest, sonsie face,
Great chieftain o’ the pudding-race!

Best read out loud. Ideally with a dram in hand and a plate of haggis in front of you.

There’s something pretty special about the way Woodfire ends its season.
Feasts are held inside an old barn, lit by a long run of candlelight that gives the whole place a warm, rustic glow.
On 6th December and 20th December, Mark is cooking a 6 course fire feast, built around open-fire techniques and carefully sourced produce. Expect a cocktail on arrival, hot smoked chalk stream trout, wild venison tacos, pheasant ravioli, whole roast partridge and a bright citrus posset to finish.

And of course, Stella brings out her handmade marshmallows so everyone can toast them over the fire in the courtyard.

All the meat comes from Barfields, which we’re very proud of.

Our Shawarma is a bit of a show-stopper!
Lamb breast is rolled and stuffed with a gorgeous mix of fenugreek, fennel, fresh coriander, black pepper, lemon zest and juice, clove, cardamom, star anise, nutmeg, cumin seeds, smoked paprika, ginger and garlic.
Oven baked or cut into slices to pan fry - the juicy meat turns meltingly soft with the most incredible aroma. Perfect for wraps, piled onto rice or tucked into flatbreads at home.
If you want something packed with flavour and ready to make dinner easy, this is the one!

Nice trip out today to visit one of our main beef farmers, Freddie, at his farm in Pevensey Levels.

Great to see the cattle and the care and attention that goes into producing the end product that we have the privilege to work with.
