Responsible deer management plays an important role in helping to protect our countryside and maintain a healthy balance in the environment. With no natural predators controlling deer numbers in much of the UK, managed culling helps prevent overpopulation, reduce damage to woodland and vegetation, and support healthier habitats.

And rather than letting that meat go to waste, it becomes a fantastic source of lean, rich and incredibly flavourful venison for our butchers to prepare. 🔪

🍔 EVER WONDERED WHAT ACTUALLY GOES INTO OUR BURGER MIX? 🥩🔪

Today we’re taking you behind the butcher’s block to show you exactly how we make our burger mix here at Easter Compton Farm Shop.

Rather than letting good beef go to waste, our butchers carefully select the quality trimmings produced while breaking down the beef, balancing the meat and fat before putting it through the mincer to create a proper, flavour-packed burger mix.

It’s another example of the skill that goes on behind the scenes using more of the animal, reducing waste and creating something seriously tasty in the process. 👌
