Meet the small team at Porridge 🌿

Next up in our little team introductions is the lovely Tom.

Tom joined the Porridge team earlier this year while undertaking his studies, and he’s been getting stuck into all sorts around the shop.

You’ll usually find him making coffees, serving customers, helping keep the shelves topped up and generally learning the many little bits that go into keeping a small shop and café running day to day.

He’s quickly become part of the team and is always happy to help, whether you’re popping in for a coffee, picking up a few pantry bits or just having a browse.

Porridge is a small, family run shop, so everyone helps with a bit of everything, and Tom has been a lovely addition to the team 💚

We think Clare may have found her new favourite bags… 🌈

Our new French market baskets have arrived, and each one is completely unique.

Every basket is individually handcrafted from natural raffia by skilled artisans using traditional techniques. Small variations in the weave, colour and pattern are all part of what makes each one special.

They are made with a strong focus on quality, fair trade craftsmanship and respect for the environment, helping to support the artisans and the traditional skills behind them.

Spacious, sturdy and full of colour, they are perfect for shopping, beach days, picnics or everyday use.

We only have a small selection, so once a design has gone, we may not see the same one again.

Meet the small team at Porridge 🌿

Next up in our little team introductions is Jo.

Jo is a huge part of keeping the shop looking lovely day to day. She’s often busy making coffees, serving customers, topping up shelves, keeping everything clean and tidy, helping people find what they need and offering advice where she can.

She’s also one of those people who can make pretty much anyone smile the moment they walk through the door. If you’ve heard Jo’s infectious laugh in the shop, you’ll know exactly what we mean.

Porridge is a small, family run shop, so everyone gets stuck into a bit of everything, and Jo plays such a lovely part in keeping the shop welcoming, friendly and full of life 💚

Meet the small team at Porridge 🌿

Next up in our little team introductions is Clare... 💚 Clare runs Porridge alongside Cal (Clare is Cal's Auntie!) and is involved in so much of what happens day to day, from serving customers and making coffees to keeping the shop ticking behind the scenes.

She also looks after our accounts, helps shape the lovely layouts and displays around the shop, and is our go to person for hampers and gifts. If you’re ever stuck for what to buy someone, Clare is definitely a good person to ask.

She’s also great to chat to if you’re looking for general wellbeing support. Whether it’s supplements, herbal teas, natural body care or everyday health products, Clare can help point you towards things we stock that may be useful. Of course, everyone is different, and proper medical advice should always come from a qualified professional.

Porridge is a small, family run shop, so everyone wears a lot of hats, and Clare is a huge part of keeping it welcoming, organised and full of lovely things to discover 💚

Steenbergs Indian Black Salt, also known as Kala Namak, is now in store at Porridge.

It has a distinctive savoury flavour and is especially popular in vegan cooking, often used to add an eggy style taste to dishes like tofu scramble, chickpea omelettes and plant based mayo.
