Brue Larder (Bruton Food Bank) Good Company Bruton CIC
Important Update to Our Food Parcel Service

Brue Larder is run entirely by volunteers. As we head into the summer holiday season, we are revising
our system for food parcels to help us continue to support everyone who needs us.

There are two changes:
1. We will no longer be able to deliver. Food parcels will now need to be collected.
2. We will no longer automatically prepare food parcels for you every week. If you need a food parcel,
please contact us before the end of Wednesday of the week you need it. This will give our
volunteers enough time to prepare your bag for collection on the Friday.

So please:
Confirm that you need a food parcel each week by the end of Wednesday via:
[email protected]

Collect your food parcel on Fridays between 9:30am – 10:30am from:
The Brue Larder
Old Fire Engine House
Silver Street
(Next to Bruton Community Hall and the Packhorse Bridge)
Bruton, Somerset BA10 0EB
A volunteer will be there to welcome you and hand you your food parcel.

If collecting your parcel is genuinely difficult due to exceptional circumstances, please let us
know. We cannot guarantee a delivery, but we will always do our best to help.

Thank you for your understanding and support. These changes will help us to manage our volunteers'
time more effectively so we can continue helping our local community.

✨ Planting the seeds of kindness starts young.

A huge thank you to Bruton Primary School, especially Mandy Davis, for inviting our wonderful Brue Larder volunteer Vanessa to speak to the Reception classes about Bruton's food bank and how our community comes together to support people when times are tough.

Using the story of the Magic Cupboard, Vanessa explored the importance of sharing, reducing food waste and looking after one another, showing that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference.

We'd really like to say a heartfelt thank you to Mandy, the school community and all the families who donated food for the Brue Larder. Your generosity will help stock our shelves and support local people who need a little extra help.

It takes a whole community to care for a community, and it's wonderful to see the next generation learning that kindness, compassion and looking after each other are values worth sharing. 💚

Brue Larder food bank is looking for local businesses who would like to support a project that is deeply rooted in the local community and dedicated to helping those in need. The families we support each week are incredibly grateful, but the Larder itself now needs additional donations to remain sustainable

If any local businesses feel able to help — whether through weekly food donations or by providing a hot meal once a month for our families — we would love to hear from you

Please reach out to us via Facebook or email at [email protected]

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to our Easter treats and packages for all the families we continue to support in Bruton.

Your kindness makes a real difference, and we’re incredibly grateful for the generosity shown by our community

We are committed to working with as many local suppliers as possible so we can continue providing fresh fruit, vegetables, and other essentials to the families we support

If you’re a local business who would like to explore how we can collaborate—whether through produce, services, we would love to start a conversation

You can reach us by email, phone, or face‑to‑face, whichever works best for you. Together, we can continue strengthening support for our community

Happy 2026 everyone — we hope you all had a lovely break.

We will be reopening for food parcel collections from 9:30am to 10:30am.

As with last year, we will be looking for local suppliers to help continue supporting families and individuals with fresh fruit and vegetables or other sustainable food donations. Your ongoing support makes a real difference, and we’re incredibly grateful.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported us throughout 2025 — we couldn’t do this without you.

Huge thank you to Sexey’s School for an absolutely enormous collection for Brue Larder Food Bank 💛

Every tin, packet and donation will travel straight into local homes, helping families and individuals keep cupboards full as the colder months close in. When heating bills rise and daylight shrinks, this kindness becomes warmth, reassurance and dignity on the table.

This is community at its best. Thoughtful, practical and deeply felt. Thank you to the students, staff and families at Sexey’s for showing what looking after each other really means.
