CLUB NEWS:
THE ROVERS RETURN!
Following this afternoon’s North Of Scotland Football League AGM, we are delighted to confirm that Buckie Rovers Football Club have officially been voted into the North Of Scotland Football League with immediate effect and will compete in the North Of Scotland Football League Championship for the 2026/27 season.
Firstly, we want to thank all member clubs for giving us the opportunity to return to this level. We can’t wait to get back out there competing against you all again over the coming season and beyond.
This is a massive moment for everyone involved with Buckie Rovers.
When the club returned in 2024 after four years in abeyance, we were effectively starting from scratch again. Rebuilding the club, rebuilding the ground and trying to put proper foundations back in place which has taken a huge amount of hard work from a lot of people, so to now be back in the NOSFL is something we’re incredibly proud of.
Our time playing at welfare level also deserves a huge mention. Those couple of years gave us the chance to properly rebuild our foundations, reconnect with the community and put Buckie Rovers back on the map again. It gave us the platform to grow again as a football club and it’s a period we’ll always be grateful for as we worked our way back towards this level.
The biggest thank you has to go to our committee.
The amount of work that has gone on behind the scenes to get us back to this stage has honestly been incredible. Countless hours, constant effort and a real determination to get this football club moving forward again. Without this group of people, none of this would have been possible and we are so lucky to have such a committed group of people working for the club behind the scenes.
Also a massive thank you to all of our supporters and sponsors, without your amazing support whether it's buying a raffle, sponsoring a player, sponsoring kit, buying a board or just supporting the club in general. Without you all none of this would've been possible, we look forward to seeing you all through the gates at Merson Park this coming season!
The last few months have been frustrating at times due to the wait regarding league reinstatement which has made it difficult to properly start building a squad, but now that everything is officially confirmed, Manager Darren Thain, his coaching staff and Director Of Football Neil Mair can really now get to work on building a competitive squad for the season ahead, one we hope the whole community can really get behind and be proud of.
We know this is where the real hard work begins, both on and off the park, but we are excited for the challenge ahead and determined to prove that Buckie Rovers are not coming back to this level just to make up the numbers.
There’s plenty more exciting news to come over the next few weeks with kit launches, pre-season friendly announcements and most importantly, signing news all on the way 👀
