One of the best parts of our job… heading out to our local growers and bringing fresh veg straight back to the shop. 💚
And today’s haul is looking pretty good! 👌
Fresh local sprouts, carrots, cauliflowers, cabbages, Savoy cabbages, leeks and plenty more filling the shelves today. 🥕🥬
We’ve been doing this for over 50 years — working with growers, buying good produce and bringing it back to Parliament Street for our customers.
It might take a little more effort going out and collecting it ourselves… but when the veg looks like this, it’s worth it. 👏
So if you’re planning a roast, soup, stew, cauliflower cheese or simply filling the fridge for the week, come and have a look at what’s come in.

They’ve handmade a range that couldn’t fit our shop any better… crocheted fruit & veg keyrings! 🧶

We’re fully stocked today with a cracking selection of fresh fruit, vegetables and salad — all picked for quality, freshness and, most importantly, flavour.
From the everyday potatoes, carrots and onions to something a little different, there’s plenty on the shelves to have a look at today.
And that’s the good thing about a proper greengrocers… you can buy exactly what you need. A full bag, a couple of carrots, one apple or enough to feed the whole family. 😂

You might remember our local Lancashire Purple Cauliflowers from the last couple of times we had them in — they certainly got people talking! 😍
Well, they’re back again, but this crop is a little bit special…

Proper Lancashire produce, grown not a million miles from our shop — exactly the sort of thing we love getting behind.
They cook just like a normal cauliflower and are brilliant roasted, steamed or turned into a colourful cauliflower cheese. And yes… they really are naturally that purple! 😂💜
