The Buxton Smokehouse

Its with much consideration and sadness that we are putting out this announcement.

Sadly, we are going to be closing The Buxton Smokehouse with immediate effect.

As with many small businesses, we have been facing increased costs over the last 12 months and although we have been able to carry much of this without passing on the costs to our customers, we now feel that it is time to call it a day.

As you know this business was born during the Covid Lockdown and we have both really enjoyed our time starting up the business and running it since 2020.

We will miss attending Buxton Market and seeing our loyal regulars and thanks also to our trade customers, especially Pig And Pepper who have been with us since day one and Chinley Cheese who have also offered us much support and custom.

Its time now for us to focus on the day jobs and other interests and spend time with family and friends and get our house and garden back to normal!

Thanks again to everyone who has supported us along the way and please continue to support local business and of course Buxton market.

We are getting ready for tomorrow and have plenty of stock but please come early as we are expecting a busy day.

Smoked Camembert will also be back in stock tomorrow.

We will also have MULLED WINE available to drink while you enjoy the Christmas music.

Find us at our usual spot next to the bus stop opposite Eagle Parade.

Hi just a quick reminder that we will be at Buxton Market on Saturday 16th December and this will be your last chance to stock up before Christmas. We will then be back at the market from Spring 2024

We are combining our December Food & Drink with our Christmas Market to now take place on Saturday 16th December due to the Met Office weather warning which is in place for tomorrow.
We would love as many people as possible to come next weekend to support our traders.

We are very sorry but the Buxton Market Christmas Market is cancelled tomorrow.

We will however be at Buxton Market on Saturday 16th December with plenty of stock so please come along.

Buxton Market Cancelled Saturday 9th December and Christmas Market Postponed until Saturday 16th December.

We really did not want to do this! Due to the weather forecast and the Met Office yellow weather warning for strong winds tomorrow, we have no choice but to cancel the market and postpone the Christmas Market. We are so sorry, but we cannot risk the safety of our traders, members of the public or our employees.

Lorraine is contacting all traders to inform them of the change from 9th December to 16th December, where so far the weather looks much calmer and we plan to combine our Food & Drink Market and Christmas Market alongside the traditional market.

Please accept our apologies, unfortunately the weather is not something we can control.

We look forward to seeing you on the 16th December for the Food & Drink / Christmas Market.

We will be at the Buxton Markets Christmas Market on Saturday 9th December. Do come along and support all of the wonderful local traders.

Not long now - with lots of events going on in Buxton this Christmas don't forget to visit Higher Buxton and the Buxton Markets Christmas Market on Saturday 9th December. Our event is free and takes place on the main Market Place in Higher Buxton up the Slopes from The Crescent, Pavilion Gardeners and Spring Gardens.
