Michael Beaumont - National President of The National Federation of Meat & Food Traders Association
This is Michael’s second term as President, previously holding this position in 2005, having been a member of the Executive Council since 2000. After leaving school Michael went to Chadacre Institute of Agriculture, for two years, returning to work for the next two years on a local mixed farm, with
arable, sheep, pigs and cattle. When he was 20, Michael’s training as a butcher began and by 1972 he was able to build his own shop in Fulbourn. Because of his earlier agricultural background, Michael started his own beef herd in order to produce his own beef for the shop and has remained committed to supplying only best quality locally produced meat. To reinforce this Michael is often heard on local radio encouraging locally produced food. Michael has, in recent years, added an outside catering service to his business, which continues to grow in popularity each year. Michael is former president of the Cambridge and district Master Butchers Association and National President of the NFMFT, 2005-06. Our products include a range of quality meats all chosen from local farms who comply with the organic ethos as close as possible, which includes the beef raised on our own farm in Wilbraham where our beef on the bone/carcass is hung for at least 21 days. We also stock a wide range of other products including cheeses, farm fresh Eggs & many sauces to complement our meat.
