Long post, please keep reading....

We are absolutely delighted to announce that we have now exceeded our original target of £20,000- thank you, thank you, thank you to all of the kind, generous souls who have helped us to get to this point. We appreciate you all SO much.

However, in light of the recent events that have led to our temporary closure, and the huge financial impact this has had on us, we have decided to now raise our target figure to £80k. This will allow us to cover staff wages and other running costs during this period of enforced closure. It will also allow us to fully restock our shelves with all your essentials and treats to prepare for our doors to be open to welcome you back again.

We're aware this is a large amount, but we know how much of a beneficial community resource DBC is for so many of you, and it means the world to us too! We will continue to "keep on keeping on" because we believe that there "Ain't no mountain high enough" to keep us from yoouuu!

We are still waiting for the go ahead to reopen. In the meantime, we have been cracking on with some tasks so that we look beautiful for reopening. No set date yet sadly. As soon as we have news, we will let you know! Thank you all for your support and patience! 🙏💚

We'd just like to say a massive THANK YOU to all of our hugely generous and extremely lovely customers/supporters for their help in getting our Go-Fund Me past the halfway mark. We're over the moon, hugely grateful, and although we are not out of the water yet, this has given us a much needed boost and the inspiration to "just keep swimming" and bounce back better than ever. It's and we are celebrating being part of a co-operative network along with some of our lovely suppliers and neighbours! 🌟 It is also International Year of Co-operatives 2025- what better excuse could there be to tell you why co-ops like ours are so important! Watch this space, we will tell you more over the next fortnight 💚

First...what makes a Co-op different from other types of business?

Today!! 💚

Tempeh slices are pure organic GMO free fermented soy tempeh from Java, Indonesia which has been captured at just the right moment to taste great eaten cold straight from the can, added to soups or curries, as a pizza topping, or fried with garlic marinade into traditional Indonesian fried tempeh chips. Makes a great tempeh burger too. It also works well as an amazing vegan sushi dipped in Teriyaki sauce with pickled ginger and wasabi!
