A huge thank you to all the people and institutions who came out to support us and help resolve this issue. I could never have imagined just how strong and responsive the Mill Road community is. Your support truly turned a horrible day into a day of joy for us. Today, the Council decided not to proceed with installing the bike racks in front of the restaurant, and will be placing them nearby instead. This is a great success for our community, as well as for the Politics and local politicians involved. Thank you!

Get ready to say goodbye to dining outside with us on Mill Road.
The council has made the decision to install public bike racks directly in front of our restaurant, right where our outdoor tables have welcomed you for over a decade.
We love cycling and fully champion active travel in Cambridge—this isn’t about being against bikes. But it is about the sharp contrast between the frequent promises to “listen to and support independent traders” and the reality of decisions pushed through without genuine consultation with the very businesses keeping Mill Road alive.
Outdoor dining does far more than add a few extra covers. It brings vitality, warmth, natural surveillance, and that distinct neighborhood atmosphere that makes our street so unique. Sacrificing hospitality space when there are plenty of alternative spots nearby sends a discouraging message to independent operators who invest their lives into this community every single day.
Come pull up a chair outside and share a glass of w**e or a plate of pasta with us while you still can.
Whatever ends up on the pavement outside, behind our front door you will always find the same passion, authenticity, and warm welcome you’ve known for years.
