🏪❤️ Community Spotlight: Preston Village Stores ❤️🏪

Every village has somewhere that people rely on. A place where you can grab the essentials, catch up on local news, have a quick chat, or simply see a friendly face.

In Preston, that place is our village shop.

Run by Holly and her fantastic team, the shop is at the very heart of village life. It’s much more than somewhere to buy milk and bread. It’s a place where people look out for one another, where a friendly conversation is never far away, and where Holly and the team are always willing to lend a kind ear or offer support when it’s needed.

If you’ve never been inside before, prepare to be amazed. Like the TARDIS, it’s far bigger on the inside than it appears from the outside and somehow manages to stock just about everything you could need. Food, drinks, snacks, newspapers, to***co and all those little essentials you suddenly realise you’ve forgotten, chances are you’ll find them there.

For those attending Summerfest, especially our campers, the shop is going to be incredibly useful throughout the weekend. Whether you’ve run out of supplies, fancy a cold drink, need some snacks for the tent, or simply don’t want to carry everything with you from home, Preston Village Stores has you covered.

We’re also hugely grateful for the support Holly and her team have given Summerfest. They’ve helped bring our community together by selling tickets to local residents and have been enthusiastic supporters of the event from day one. Community events like ours only succeed when local businesses get behind them, and the village shop has done exactly that.

And if you don’t get chance to visit the shop itself (just 30 seconds from the event), don’t worry, they’ll be joining us at Summerfest with their own stall, bringing a selection of their products directly to the festival.

Like many independent village businesses, the shop has faced some difficult challenges recently. The road closures in Preston have had a significant impact, reducing the passing trade that local shops depend on. That’s why we’d love to ask everyone attending Summerfest to show their support if they can.

We’re incredibly fortunate to have such a wonderful business serving our village. The more we support businesses like Preston Village Stores, the stronger our community becomes.

So if you’re visiting Preston for Summerfest, please pop in, pick up a few essentials, visit their stall, and help support a business that does so much for our village all year round.

Holly and team, thank you for everything you do. Preston wouldn’t be the same without you. ❤️
