We had such an incredible response to our Sicilian pop-up last weekend that we’ve decided to do it EVERY Friday & Saturday throughout the summer! ☀️

Chef Marco from La Vita will be back this weekend serving the same mouthwatering menu you loved!

Starting next week, we’ll begin switching up the menu every couple of weeks, and we’ll be introducing specials boards too — so there’s always something new to try.

This Friday 25th & Saturday 26th July, we’re hosting a very special Sicilian evening with the amazing Chef Marco from La Vita!

Get ready for an evening of authentic Sicilian flavours, served up right here in Rhiwbina.

From 5pm – 9pm

Come for the food, stay for the vibes. It’s going to be full of flavour, warmth, and proper Sicilian soul. Don’t miss it!

Dear friends,

This isn’t an easy post to write, but it’s an honest one.

From 27th July, we’ll be trialling a new schedule at Suburban — opening Wednesday to Saturday only throughout the summer.

Running a small business is hard. Running one while raising four kids is even harder. I’ve always tried to do it all — keep Suburban going, support my team, manage rising costs, and be present for my family — but lately, that balance has become impossible to maintain.

Like so many independents, we’re feeling the pressure. Costs have gone up across the board, staffing has been a real challenge, and behind the scenes, the financial strain is very real. If we keep going as we are, we risk burning out — or worse, closing altogether.

That’s not something I’m willing to let happen.

So this summer, we’re trialling a reduced opening week — four days instead of seven — to give us space to breathe, regroup, and find a more sustainable rhythm.

We’re still here. We’re still pouring every bit of love into the shop. And we hope this change will allow us to keep going — not just for now, but for the long term.

As always, we’re so grateful for your support. We know changes like this can be inconvenient, and we don’t take that lightly. But if you can visit on our open days, share a kind word, or just help spread the word, it makes a world of difference.
