Today I celebrate 10 years of working at CannaDeli.
I know what you’re all thinking... “God, TomCannaDeli was 11 years old when he started working there”
But no…
10 years ago, a farmer’s son from a village called Llanuwchllyn near Bala left home at the age of 19, excited (and probably slightly terrified) for his new chapter in Cardiff.
In my completely biased opinion, CannaDeli has always been a little different to other cafés. There’s something about it that’s difficult to put into words. A certain warmth. A sense of individuality. And for me, most importantly... Family.
Over the past 10 years I’ve had the privilege of working with truly amazing people. I’ve made friendships, memories, laughed until I cried and stressed out to the point of tears. 😂
But its the people that makes CannaDeli what it is today. The incredible staff who have given their time, energy and personality to the place.
And of course, our lush customers, some of whom have been there from the very beginning. You’ve watched me grow up. You’ve watched CannaDeli grow and adapt to the times.
And now, 10 years on, I’m taking CannaDeli on its next adventure… CannaDeli, Canton. Just down the road, but a whole new chapter.
And honestly, since opening our doors less than a month ago, I’ve already felt that same warmth and sense of family there is in Pontcanna.
Who knows where I’ll be in 10 years time?
But if I enjoy the next decade even half as much as I’ve enjoyed the last one, I’m pretty sure I’ll be a very happy boy.
Here’s to 10 more years at CannaDeli.
Diolch o galon. ❤️✌️
