Coming up from Thursday... 🐈‍⬛

There’s Myrddin Heritage pork meatballs with greens and tomato sauce, blackmountainssmokery smoked mackerel open sandwiches with pickles, chestnut mushroom and thyme soup with Somerset Cheesemakers Gorwydd Caerphilly, a Welsh cheese platter, and more.

Puddings include slices of vanilla cheesecake with passion fruit compote, a pear and ginger frangipane tart, apple cake, chocolate and pecan brownies, and a raspberry ice cream sundae.

Sunday’s brunch specials are beetroot toast with poached eggs or a Middlewhite sausage sandwich with Wright’s tomato catsup.

And our potato cakes with aioli are back đŸ©·

Meanwhile, a squash, Capra Cymru goats’ curd and red pepper pie heads up Click & Collect.

And now for something completely different
 🎭

Join actor Robbie Bowman for a new series of early evening acting classes for adults 18+, starting with a taster session this Sunday at Llanarthne Village Hall.

And as Robbie is a familiar face at Wright’s, he’s calling it Wright’s Players!

Robbie, who recently starred in ‘Pompeii: Out of Time with Tom Hiddleston’ on Nat Geo / Disney+ will be your guide.

He’ll take you through exercises he has taught at Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD) in Cardiff.

“We’ll be looking at acting exercises that include those from Stanislavski, Meisner and Chekhov using monologues, poems and improvisation to explore them... We may even work on a play and at some point!”

No experience is necessary, just an appetite to have a go!

Your donation will go to , a charity founded by Robbie, and can be paid in cash on the day.

Squash, rainbow chard, goats curd and red pepper pie; tomato, coriander, red onion salads with Teifi halloumi; Salt & Smoke salmon with courgette fritters; a new side of leek and cheese gratin, and more...

Puddings include slices of pistachio and rose water cake, chocolate and sea salt brownies and a classic tiramisu.

Sunday’s brunch special is Arabic beans with labneh and toast, with the option of adding Myrddin Heritage bacon.

Save the date! We’re pleased to announce that our first gofod open exhibition, gofod [agored] is kicking off on Thursday August 27th.

The exhibition will showcase some of the fantastic work submitted to our open call.

You’ll find gofod, our new exhibitions and events space, at the back of Wright’s Thursday-Sunday 9-3.

Show your work in our new space at our first open call exhibition. Last chance to submit đŸ©·

Selected works will be exhibited in our new space, gofod, this September. They will also be included in a public vote, with the winner being announced at the end of the exhibition.

During the course of the exhibition, visitors of Wright’s, CoffiWright’s and gofod will be encouraged to select their favourite artwork, and who they’d like to see more of in 2027.

As well as receiving an opportunity to present a showcase of their work, the successful artist will be given curatorial and technical support in preparation for the show.

Please send 1-2 works for submission to [email protected] by 18th of August 2026.

Entry must include the name, title and dimensions of the work, images and price for selling. Commission on sales is 30%.
