Buying olive oil is similar to buying wine… you can grab a cheaper blended product for everyday use, but for something special, try a single origin single varietal. These products cost more, but you’re paying for a small batch unique product which has its own amazing characteristics.

We conduct blind tastings when choosing new oils to sell, and the differences are incredible. Better oils have cleaner, sharper, crisp grassy notes and more vibrant colours due to their freshness.

Once again it was amazing to have a full house after hours at the deli.. lots of regulars and friendly faces enjoying home cooked food, great wines and genuine hospitality. This is social communal dining at its best.

- Chalk Stream beetroot cured trout with lime & cucumber salad
- Olive brined chicken with potatoes & yogurt

We absolutely loved hosting a Greek supper club at the weekend! Full house of lovely guests, four courses of modern Greek cooking, wines flowing and lots of fun and laughter. Can’t wait to do it again soon! X

And just like that, The Southsea Deli turns 8!

What a journey it’s been. We are so grateful to be part of something a little bit unique. We are a family of colleagues who genuinely care about each other, our partners and our customers.

In a world that’s tricky, it is a scary time for all small hospitality businesses. We are all fearing the challenges ahead. We thank every single customer for choosing to spend their money with an independent. The benefits this brings our little town of Southsea goes well beyond the jobs we provide.

It was great to share a drink or two with our colleagues, supporters and partners at the weekend. X
