We've got a great selection of cheeses at our deli counter - and not just British and Italian! We know everyone loves their French cheeses and can't do without Manchego!! Come and have a look at our range, and if you have any requests we'd love to hear them.

We also stock a wide range of Italian salumi, and some absolutely mouth-watering charcuterie from Trealy Farm Charcuterie in Monmouthshire - not only do they taste amazing, but they guarantee no nitrates or allergens in any of their meats.

SEPTEMBER’S HFM RECIPE OF THE MONTH

The rain may be doing its best impression of November, but the ingredients are still very much singing late summer.

This month, we’re making Jason’s Charred Peach, Scamorza Affumicata & Monmouth Beech-Smoked Air-Dried Ham Salad with Basil.

Juicy peaches are charred until their edges begin to caramelise, then paired with smoky scamorza, fresh basil, exceptional air-dried ham and just a little flicker of heat. It’s sweet, smoky, salty and fresh, essentially, late summer on a plate, regardless of what is falling from the sky.

The rather magnificent ham and cheese came from Hooleigans Bottle Shop & Delicatessen, the brilliant new addition to Charles Street. Hooleigans is exactly the sort of independent business Hoole deserves: a thoughtfully chosen range, genuinely excellent produce and plenty of reasons to pop in for one thing and emerge carrying six. We’re delighted to have them as neighbours.

Accompanied by Fruits of the Forage Pickled Garlic Buds, Pear Salsa per Formaggi, Black Olives, Aglioliva, Cetriolini, Cambrook Nuts and some Puro Balsamic Glaze.

It looks fantastic!!!

Our w**e count is now up to 137!

We are currently only stocking Italian w**es, but with the varied geography of Italy from north to south, the alpine regions, sun-drenched southern areas, coastal and volcanic influences, we hope there is a w**e to suit all tastes!

We also hope to offer something for everyone, with a good range of bottles priced below £11, but also some big occasion w**es if you are looking for something more premium.

The aim is to eventually offer at least one red, one white and one rosato from each of the 20 regions of Italy - watch this space for the addition of some rare, indigenous grapes from the lesser known regions!

Due to a slight error in ordering we have ended up with 6 times as many Ribblesdale goats cheese logs as we expected!

So we now have an offer running of 3 logs in any combination for £9! (usually £3.99 each), whilst stocks last.

They are made in the Yorkshire Dales, are handcrafted, soft artisanal cheeses made with pasteurised goat's milk. We have the honey and petals, ash and natural goat logs available.

Perfect served at room temperature on a cheeseboard, or crumbled over a salad, melted into a pasta sauce or paired with crackers or bread. Delicious!
